Blazing sun bakes most parts of country

Photo: Google Summer started attaining severity in the country on Saturday as the temperatures shot up to intolerable levels, especially in Sindh  and South Punjab. The maximum temperature in Lahore was 44 degree. It was 43 degrees in Multan and 45 degrees in Faisalabad. Hot wind continued to blow throughout the day. The blazing sun forced people to stay indoors. Those who could not afford the luxury especially among the elderly and schoolchildren, found the weather to be highly inconvenient.  The Pakistan Meteorological department  warned that ‘the very hot and dry weather ‘ would continue throughout the week across most parts of the country.  

50 Afghan soldiers killed and 100 injured in retaliating cross border fires

A new Metro Bus project inaugurated connecting the New Airport

Rs. 18b Metro bus will route from Peshawar Mor to New Islamabad International Airport, both projects will put to function in August     On Saturday, PM Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the construction of Metro Bus linking Islamabad to the new Islamabad International Airport near Fatehjang. the track will be put to function by August.   A 25.6km long and nine meters wide elevated  track will be completed before independence day approaching this year with the estimation of Rs.18 billion. The track will connect Peshawar Mor to the New Airport being constructed near Fatehjang announced the PM. India bans medical visas for Pakistan

Crossing all limits of humanity, India has banned the issuance of medical visas to Pakistani citizens without giving any reason. To make the visa process more complicated, India is planning to make several changes in the rules, sources told. The Foreign Office has expressed reservation over the move that will affect thousands of patients from Pakistan. According to Indian media, Narendra Modi’s government is also planning to review business and religious pilgrimage visas offered to Pakistani citizens. The decision has been taken by India few weeks after it decided to put all bilateral engagements with Pakistan on hold after RAW agent Kulbhushan Jadhav’s death sentence. Though the curbs will also come at some cost to India, the BJP-led government is ready to go ahead to reflect what foreign minister Sushma Swaraj had announced in Parliament that India will go to any extent to free Jadhav. May, June to be the hottest months in Pakistan this year

Photo: Google Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that May and June will be the hottest and driest months this year with the Mercury expected to exceed 40 °C in many areas. PMD predicted that heat wave would hit Karachi in June and department will issue warnings three-days earlier.  According to PMD the temperature will remain high during Ramadan month in plain areas of Punjab and Sindh where as it is expected to drop in upper pars of the country due to expected incessant showers. Forecast for the next 24 hours by PMD is that mainly hot and dry weather is likely to prevail in Upper Sindh and South Punjab. However light rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in KP, FATA, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sarghoda, Quetta, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

PM blames opposition for power shortfall in Pakistan

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday pleaded with his opponents to continue cursing the ruling party, "but don't stall these development projects". At the breakthrough ceremony of the right head-race tunnel of the Neelum Jhelum project, the PM lashed out at the opposition, blaming them for the power shortfall in Pakistan. "You're well aware of who is responsible for this shortfall. They come on TV and spew hatred every day, but to sit in Islamabad and level allegations and speak lies is frustrating people now," he said.  The PM, who has been announcing development projects in various parts of the country as elections draw nearer, also delivered an unusual warning to his opponents.  "Don't keep eyes your eyes closed like a pigeon. International journalists criticized Maryam Nawaz for calling Panama papers 'crap'

"Panama is crap. Trashed in the rest of the world. Those relying on it to bring down NS will bite the dust Insha'Allah" said Maryam Nawaz in her recent tweet.  Due to her comment Maryam Nawaz Sharif raised a furore on Twitter. She also went on to say that "Panama papers were never about corruption, Even the stealers and hackers didn't say it was. Losers in imminent danger of being swept away in 2018 pounced upon the conspiracy hatched by evil minds". These comments from PM'S daughter not only drew ire from local politicians but also from international journalists. I think that at this point of the time after the Panama verdict she shouldn't have said that as she greatly got slammed by the politicians and journalists on her comment about Panama Papers.

JIT for Panama Papers inquiry to be formed soon

    Supreme Court on Tuesday announced to constitute a three-member special bench for the implementation of order in Panama Papers case. The bench includes Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijazul Ahsan and will be headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, implied by the notification. Meanwhile, the SC has also established a special section to help constitute the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to conduct a probe into the Panama leaks case. order. Following the verdict, JIT will comprise of six members and SC ha received their names. all relevant institutions have submitted he names of the officers who will be a part of JIT. The JIT would consist of an FIA officer, a NAB representative, an SECP officer, a State Bank of Pakistan nominee, and an officer from the ISI and MI.   The JIT would submit its report on the progress in the probe to the coordinator every 15 days as implied by the order. Much hyped Pakistani movie 'Yalghaar' to finally release this Eid-ul-Fitr

Shaan, Humayun Saeed, Adnan Saddique and Ayesha Omer starrer Yalghaar is all set to release on Eid-ul-fitr this year. The film was initially slated to release in December 2015 but it was delayed time and again for a number of reasons.  The Director, Writer and Cinematographer of Yalghaar, Hassan Waqas Rana blamed the re-shoots for the delay of the movie. He said that "Once I saw the final results of different scenes, they weren't the same as I imagined them to be, that's why I re-shoot most of the scenes and hence the delay".  The cast also include veteran actor Ayub Khosa, Sana Bucha, Armeena Rana Khan, Bilal Ashraf and Sikander Rizvi. The movie is a massive project and all set to make great business on the box office this Eid-ul-fitr. 

Operative part of news leak inquiry report to be made public

Government has decided to public the operative part of the DAWN leak inquiry report through a notification by the interior ministry.  “The interior ministry will issue a notification about the news leaks this week. This notification will carry the operative part of the recommendations of the committee,” Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah told Dawn on Monday. H e further added that  Prime Minister has approved the committee's report including para 18 that is the operative part of the inquiry report. Moreover  this action will settle down all the speculations going around related to civil-military relationship and will disappoint those who where predicting serious tension between civil government and the military ,claims Rana Sanaullah. Power devolution is important for development in Karachi: Imran Khan

While addressing in labour day speech to traders gathering in Karachi Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson compared KP and Sindh government asserting that the main difference between both governments is devolution of power. "The more you devolve power the more efficient your systems will be. Devolution is really important for Karachi. The current set-up is neither here nor there," he said. While stressing on the importance of giving power and authority to the lower most level of the government he also discussed police reforms, nepotism and tax collection as major issues. Talking about police reforms in KP, he said that after the implication of reforms, police system in KP stands at a much better position from where it used to be in near past. 19 injured in road accident near Murree

19 people including women and Children got injured in a road accident near Tret (on the way to Murree) on Sunday. All the injured are shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for better treatment. PIMS administrator Dr. Altaf Hussain told the reporters that all the injured belong to Gujranwala . Treatment was provided to them and luckily none of them was in a very serious condition.  It is important to mention that in summers a lot number of people go to Murree from Central Punjab on Weekends but the drivers don't know the route very well due to lack of experience and while coming back, they mostly end up with accidents.

Two Muslim men lost their lives over suspected cow theft in India

Two Muslim men have died after they were attacked by Indian villagers who suspected them of stealing cows, Indian police said on Monday, this is another such attack on the animal Hindus consider sacred. Abu Hanifa and Rizyazuddin Ali were beaten with sticks to death by the villagers. Police in the northeastern state of Assam said that they had lodged the FIR and even arrested two suspects in the murder case. The incident comes amidst a wave of rising tensions over the killing and smuggling of cows in Hindu-majority India, where the animal is considered sacred and its slaughter is a punishable offence in many states. There have been a spate of attacks in recent months by 'cow protection' vigilant groups, who roam some highways inspecting livestock trucks for any trace of the animal and in the same month three more Muslims were killed in India over the same issue.

Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaaf chairman Imran Khan while addressing to PTI's Haqooq-e-Karachi March on Sunday has said that Nawaz Sharif must be held answerable for the allegations he leveled against the army in dawn leaks scandal . He said that by defaming the military Nawaz Sharif has proved that he is not different than Narendra Modi. After allegations of bribery, Khan again took a jab at Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif by labeling him 'The godfather of Corruption'. The PTI's chief said that 'When the supreme court judges had declared him dishonest and a liar then he has no reason to remain a Prime minister and we all should demand his resignation'.

Turkey's President wants Pakistan - India to solve the Kashmir issue

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urges Pakistan-India to finally put the dispute on Kashmir issue to a halt.  Erdogan statement comes as the president begins a two days visit to India. the president is expected to meet Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on Monday.  He urged both countries to settle the Kashmir issue through negotiation as both countries will be benefited by this compromise. Pakistan-India are not on good terms lately as following the Uri attack in September 2016 , Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stepped up a drive to isolate Pakistan diplomatically. In the days following the attack India claimed to conduct surgical strikes; a claim Pakistan strongly rejected. Ever since that both of these countries are not ready to compromise at all. We have to wait and see  whether Turkey' President Erdogan will be successful in his efforts or not.

Madina bombing; Pakistani among 46 suspects arrested

Saudi Arabia's security forces informed that they have arrested 46 suspects in link to a terrorist group involved in Madina Bombing that took place last year. Interior Ministry spokesman Maj Gen Mansour al Turki further added that among the arrested suspects there are 32 Saudis and 14 others belong to Egypt, Pakistan, Yemen, Afghanistan, Sudan and Jordan. The suspected group is also involved in suicide bombing near US conslate in Jeddah added, Interior Minister Al Turki. These bombings took place outside Masjid e Nabwi in Madina and near Us conslate in Jeddah last year in ending days of Ramazan killing four of Saudi security officers. in initial investigations Saudi ministry identified Madina bomber as Saudi national and conslate suicider as Pakistani.

Indian aggression in occupied Kashmir is state sponsored terrorism: COAS

Chief of Army staff visited LoC in Haji Pir sector where he appreciated the morale and determination of Kashmiris in their freedom fight and assured them of Pakistan's strong moral support in future as well. Moreover he asserted that violence on innocent Kashmiris by violent Indian forces is state sponsored terrorism by all definitions. According to a press release from Inter Services Public Relations, COAS said that Kashmiri people have a right to live freely and fearlessly and Pakistan will stand by them through thick and thin in support of their rightful political struggle.
