Pakistan junior hockey team wins event in Australia

Pakistani juniors defeated New South Wales State team by 3-2 in the final of Australia's National Junior Hockey Championships in Hobart on Saturday. The top scorer from Pakistan through the entire tournament Naveed Alam stroke a goal smartly in 13th minute of the match opening the way for team's victory. By the half time Pakistan were by 2-0 when Ahmed Nadeem successfully converted a penalty corner to make another goal. Third goal by Ahmed Nadeem in 44th minute strengthened victory chances making Pakistan lead by 3-0. On the contrary,  New South Wales kept trying for a chance and finally their team mate Ehren Hazell scored a goal increasing the overall score to 3-1. PM wants to see load shedding end till December

  In a cabinet meeting, PM Nawaz Sharif gives a deadline to the federal cabinet and the concerned department to end load shedding till December or in either case he will not hesitate to take strict action against the concerned officials. Our informed source further told that PM is quite angry at the performance of the ministry and gave them deadline to end power gaps. He further said that December is the last deadline month to solve the issue so that we can face our people confidently in the upcoming elections. He further said that it was government's responsibility to provide comfort and ease to masses so this issue must be solved by the time given. Potential suspect confesses to shooting Mashal Khan

One of the main suspects, Imran Ali, in Mashal Khan lynching case confess to his crime before the judicial magistrate on Saturday. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Mohammad Alam Shinwari  stated that Ali was Khan's class fellow and a student of journalism department at Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan (AWKUM). The officer further said that the pistol used by Ali has been recovered and the suspect has admitted his crime during investigation and interrogation procedures. Imran also alleged the university administration to be involved in the case, deputy inspector told further. Previously on April 13, Mashal, a 23 year old journalism student, was beaten and shot brutally by a mob in university premises. The main suspect Imran Ali was picked up by the police earlier this week. Police have arrested 5 mote suspects in Mashal Khan lynching case and number of arrested individuals raises to 47.

Tariq Fatemi removed from his seat following inquiry into DAWN leak; Military rejects the directives

Syed Tariq Fatemi, special assistant to PM on Foreign affairs, has been removed form his post by Prime minister; following the investigation report on Dawn leak. The directives came on Saturday when the committee on news leak probe submitted its findings and recommendations to the PM Nawaz Sharif. The content of the report has not made public yet. Moreover All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) has also been ordered to make code of conduct for print media specially for stories on "issues of national importance and security." While Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major Gen Asif Ghafoor says that army rejects the notification calling it "incomplete." He further elaborates in his tweet that, "Notification on Dawn Leak is incomplete and not in line with recommendations by the Inquiry Board. Notification is rejected."

Alliance to counter anti-Nawaz drive formed

Image by Google.com The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and PML- Functional have decided to form a grand alliance of like-minded parties to counter the “Go Nawaz go” drive launched by the Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.  The decision was taken during a meeting of the leaders of both parties with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan at the Governor’s House on Friday night,  They said a PML-N delegation would soon meet PML-F chief Pir Pagara in this regard.  The meeting reviewed the overall political situation against the backdrop of the anti-government movement and the Supreme Court’s judgement in the Panama Papers case. Corporal punishment claims boy’s life in Nasirabad

Image by Google.com A student of Class-III on Friday lost his life reportedly because of corporal punishment by his teacher in  Dera Murad Jamali . Syed Nazar Shah, the teacher, was immediately taken into custody.  Ten-year-old Amanullah Solangi went to Government Primary School in Shah Baig village of Nasirabad district. According to sources, he was subjected to severe beating by Mr Shah over some mistake. The boy was taken to hospital where he died. The medics confirmed Solangi had serious wounds on his body.  Villagers placed the body on the main Quetta-Sukkur Highway and held a protest against the teacher. They raised slogans and demanded the teacher’s arrest. Traffic remained disrupted for quite some time.  The protest was called off after the local administration assured the grieving family that action would be taken against the teacher and school. Man sentenced to life imprisonment for sexually abusing young girl

Image by Google.com A local court has convicted a person for taking away and sexually molesting a young girl for two months and sentenced him to life imprisonment with fine of Rs 250,000 in Peshawar. The court of additional district and sessions judge Ali Gohar pronounced that the prosecution had proved its case against the accused, Iftikhar Khan, and the evidence on record connected him with the commission of the offence. The accused was awarded life imprisonment under section 376, and five years imprisonment each under section 337 J and 496 A. All the sentences have to run concurrently.  Abuse against children fills our news stream every other day. In the past month alone, there have been at least nine cases of sexual abuse against children reported in local news channels and newspapers. Shahid Afridi turns down Najam Sethi's farewell offer

Image by Google.com Former Pakistani cricket team captain Shahid Afridi declined the offer of farewell by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Excutive Committee's Chairman Najam Sathi upon his retirement from international cricket on Friday. The legendary all-rounder announced his retirement  from international cricket in February this year. He asked PCB  to give him a farewell match so that he could exit the international arena in a befitting manner. “A farewell match is my right,” he had said but he wasn't given any farewell at that time. As now Younas Khan and Misbah ul Haq retired from the international cricket, Najam Sethi has planned on giving them a proper farewell. India bans social media in IHK

Image by Google.com India has banned 22 social media websites in India held Kashmir (IHK) on Wednesday; the authorities told our sources. Government says that this one-month ban is needed for retaining public safety as social media was highly "misused by anti-national and anti-social elements". Videos being shown on various social media websites in recent days depicting alleged abuse of Kashmiris by Indian forces have fueled unrest in Kashmir. Facebook, Whats app, twitter and many other  social connectivity websites are gagged in an effort to calm the tensions in the disputed region. Moreover the public order claims that, "It's being felt that continued misuse of social networking sites and instant messaging services is likely to be detrimental to the interests of peace and tranquility in the state."

PTI's chairman Imran Khan earlier called a procession after Panama case hearing aimed at forcing Nawaz Sharif to step down as the Prime Minister.  The theme of the mass contact drive was 'Manzil Qareeb Hay' . The Party showed its power at the Shakarpariyan Parade Ground by organizing a rally which was addressed by its chairman Imran Khan. IK said that Sharif has no moral authority to be the prime minister anymore. The venue was crowded with youth, men and women who were showing their support for Imran Khan and his party's ideology. The venue was continuously echoing  with 'Go Nawaz Go'.  After Islamabad rally, the PTI will hold atleast 6 such rallies in different cities before Ramzan. The second rally will be held in Karachi on April 30, in Nowshera on May 5, Abbotabad on May 12. According to PTI rallies would also be organized in Lahore, Attock and Quetta. 

Jindal and Sharif's secret meeting triggered intense speculations in the country

Indian business tycoon Sajjan Jindal and PM Nawaz Sharif's unannounced meeting on Thursday at a hill resort in Murree triggered intense speculations in country's political spheres. Maryam Nawaz confirms the meeting in a television program. Seasoned analysts call it an audacious  attempt to boost Indo-Pak relation. Moreover, informed sources clerify that Mr. Jindal's visit to Pakistan was not possible without the prior knowledge of country's civil and millitary intelligence services.
