Tariq Fatemi removed from his seat following inquiry into DAWN leak; Military rejects the directives
Syed Tariq Fatemi, special assistant to PM on Foreign affairs, has been removed form his post by Prime minister; following the investigation report on Dawn leak. The directives came on Saturday when the committee on news leak probe submitted its findings and recommendations to the PM Nawaz Sharif. The content of the report has not made public yet. Moreover All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) has also been ordered to make code of conduct for print media specially for stories on "issues of national importance and security."
While Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major Gen Asif Ghafoor says that army rejects the notification calling it "incomplete." He further elaborates in his tweet that, "Notification on Dawn Leak is incomplete and not in line with recommendations by the Inquiry Board. Notification is rejected."
