Former Pakistani cricket team captain Shahid Afridi declined the offer of farewell by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Excutive Committee's Chairman Najam Sathi upon his retirement from international cricket on Friday.
The legendary all-rounder announced his retirement from international cricket in February this year. He asked PCB to give him a farewell match so that he could exit the international arena in a befitting manner. “A farewell match is my right,” he had said but he wasn't given any farewell at that time. As now Younas Khan and Misbah ul Haq retired from the international cricket, Najam Sethi has planned on giving them a proper farewell. He said that as Afridi was demanding a farewell match; now he will also get a proper farewell along with Misbah and Younas but Shahid Afridi clearly declined Najam Sethi's offer by saying that he doesn't have time because of his personal commitments.
This refusal clearly shows that Shahid Afridi is dejected at PCB for not giving him a farewell when he demanded.
